With 8 points toward her AKC championship and a Best of Breed under her belt, as well as titles in obedience, rally and agility, I felt it was time for Arwen to settle down to motherhood. Arwen offers substance, temperament, athleticism and intelligence to this breeding. Leopold offers much of the same, but brings breed type that I lack. These puppies should offer altheticism, breed type and intelligence and be capable of excelling in the conformation ring as well as the performance ring.

I was thrilled with Vanna's first litter, which produced Liberty's Road To Rivendell CGC, Arwen. Rave has been chosen for Vanna's second and final litter and I anticipate more beautiful offspring.

I spent a year looking for that just right dog to breed to Vanna. Denali was a dog that I've admired for quite some time and had been waiting for that just right bitch to be able to breed to him. Mother nature seems to have had other plans. The breeding didn't take. After talking with Cindee, we chose Remington-to carry on the traits of his sire, and bring in those of his dam. This breeding is one that I have anticipated and eagerly look forward to. My hope is to produce a litter with outstanding breed type as well as the intellegence, athleticism and temperament every Great Dane should posses. Cindee Carlson and I have worked closely together to be able to make this dream a reality. The breeding has taken place. So now we wait....

I first met Scoobydoo at the National in Texas in 1998. I was so impressed with his temperament and movement that I knew one day I wanted to have one of his sons or daughters. Eventually, I worked things out and a frozen breeding was planned. This produced only one pup, a merle, Corinna. I have never used a merle in my breeding program in the past, and was hesitant to use one at this time, but Scoobydoo was such an exceptional dog, and due to unfortunate circumstances was now gone, so I decided to wait and watch Corinna grow to see if she would be all I hoped she would be. Scoobydoo did pass on his wonderful temperament and movement to his daughter. As she grew I saw in her the conformational attributes that I had hoped for. As a breeder I do not advocate the breeding of merles haphazardly. There are many moral issues that can arrise due to the potential for the production of whites with deafness, and or many other disabilities. I do not take the creating of life lightly and do accept the responsibility for anything I produce. Therefore this breeding was not considered without much thought and research.

Due to unfortunate circumstances this breeding didn't produce any puppies, and so we try again. If you are still interested in a puppy from Liberty Danes, we have two breedings planned for this fall. Talia will be bred when she comes in heat again, possibly December of this year to Am. Can. CH Harlewood-Briggadane Ricochet, a very nice mantle male.

The litter was whelped January 25th, 2002.
