Arwen was outging and energetic from the start, much like her mother, Vanna. With a desire to please and her energy level, I hoped to become a team, as Vanna and I have done.
With Rally an approved class, Arwen made her performence debut in rally novice. She easily completed her RN title.
The GDCA National 2006 came along at a time when a tragedy had struck at home. Due to this, Arwen had an unexpected break in her training. We went to the National feeling unprepared, but determined to do our best. Arwen competed in novice obedience and picked up her first CD leg. Parts weren't pretty, but she hung in there and got the job done. I was very proud of her for her effort. Rally went well-except for her strong desire to take the jump twice, instead of once! She picked up her first rally advanced leg and a second place.
Arwen will stay home for the winter to train and will come back out in 2007 ready to go!!!!!!!!! She will also be making her debut in agility.
Arwen had a great 2007. She finished her RA title in Wichita with a 2nd and 3rd placement in all breed competition.
She picked up her second CD leg and took 2nd at the GDCA Specialty a short time later.
Arwen went on to complete her CD title and pick up her first RE leg with a 2nd place in all breed competition.
She then went on to finish her RE with a 1st and 4th placement in open competition.
In the mean time, Arwen made her splash in the agility ring. With a bit of a rocky start, she gained experience and aptitude quickly. Heading to the National with only a couple of trials under her belt, she still got a Q in standard and first place.
She finished the year picking up the legs needed in Novice preferred to complete her NAP and NJP titles and also picked up a couple of open preferred legs.
2008 will bring more agility for Arwen as well as training for open obedience and maybe even tracking in the fall.
Arwen entered her first UKC agility trial in Feb. 08 and came away with her UKC AG1 title. She had a great time and placed 3rd, 3rd, and 1st. in her runs in open competition. A week later she certified for her TDI, therapy dog title. She will follow in her mothers paw prints in many, many ways.
